An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical card, you scan a QR code to install a data plan. It works alongside your existing SIM — so you keep your home number while using local Indonesian data.

1. Check your email for the QR code (sent within seconds of purchase).

2. Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > Add eSIM.

3. Scan the QR code.

4. Label it 'Indonesia Travel' for easy identification.

5. Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line.

The eSIM activates when you connect to a network in Indonesia.

Most phones made after 2018 support eSIM. Popular compatible devices include: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Huawei P40 and later, and many more. Visit our Compatibility page for a full list.

Your plan begins when you first connect to the cellular network in Indonesia — not when you purchase. You can buy your eSIM days or weeks before your trip and install it anytime.

Yes, hotspot and tethering are included with all plans at no extra cost. Share your connection with laptops, tablets, or travel companions.

Yes. HabibiSim is powered by Telkomsel, Indonesia's largest carrier with the widest coverage. It works across all 17,000+ islands including Bali, Java, Sumatra, Lombok, Komodo, Raja Ampat, and more.

Try these steps:

1. Make sure data roaming is enabled for the eSIM line.

2. Restart your phone.

3. Check that the eSIM is set as the active data line.

4. Make sure you're in an area with cellular coverage.

If it's still not working, contact us on WhatsApp — we respond within 2 minutes.

If your eSIM has not been activated (connected to a network), we offer a full refund. Once activated, the plan has started and cannot be refunded. Contact us on WhatsApp for refund requests.

Yes. If you need more days, you can purchase another plan. Your phone supports multiple eSIM profiles, so you can add a new one when the current plan expires.

Your phone needs to be SIM-unlocked to use eSIM from a different carrier. Most phones purchased outright (not through a carrier contract) are already unlocked. Contact your carrier if unsure.
